/ OVERVIEW

Guerilla Love-Bombing for Warner Music: 2,000 roses, a vintage van, and last-minute chaos – ten days after Valentine's Day.

SOOH WHAT

Warner Music Central Europe had a clear vision: bring the album release of Bruno Mars’ “The Romantic” to the streets – with an activation that hits emotionally and works as content. The idea was already there: hand out roses, vintage van, pure romance. Our job? Turn that vision into reality.

The timeline? Just under four weeks. Then came the plot twist: the US management changed plans overnight. Several activations had originally been planned – scrapped, reworked, reimagined. What remained: the rose activation. And four weeks to make it all happen.

/ STRATEGY

SOOH WHY?

“The Romantic” is Bruno Mars’ love album – Warner’s strategy was obvious: if the album is romantic, the activation has to be romantic too. A rose isn’t just a flower – it’s a symbol, a gift, a moment to pause.

The clever timing twist: ten days after Valentine’s Day. When the commercial rose stands have disappeared and nobody expects flowers anymore, we bring them back to the streets. Not classic Valentine’s marketing – an unexpected love moment in the middle of everyday February life.

Friedrichshain as a location was a strategic choice: young, creative, music-savvy. The area around Warschauer Straße and Revaler Straße sees heavy foot traffic and is open to the unexpected. A Renault Estafette as a mobile love station – a pretty charming vintage vehicle with subtle branding. Add a handcrafted rose heart as a visual statement and 2,000 fresh roses to hand out. Each one with a custom hangtag and QR code linking to the pre-order.

/ EXECUTION

SOOH HOW?

2,000 roses. Each one de-thorned. Each one fitted with a hangtag. Four people, a full day of handwork. The rose heart – roughly one meter in diameter, placed on an easel next to the van – became a content magnet for everyone passing by.

Fun fact: if you google “Rosenherz” (rose heart), you end up in funeral floristry. Which is exactly where we sourced ours. When the delivery arrived at our co-creators’ place, the neighbors immediately asked if someone had died.

February 24, 2026: the van rolled into Friedrichshain – corner of Revaler/Warschauer. Prime spot, but a strict no-stopping zone. The city enforcement officers came by twice – and looked the other way both times. Love always wins!

Three promoters handed out roses from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. The rose heart? Pure content magnet – whether Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, or BeReal. One passerby even wanted to take it home after the activation. Employees from nearby shops and the local Sparkasse branch came outside just to get a rose.

The biggest challenge? Last-minute changes from US management up until a week before execution – source a new vehicle, update print files, stay flexible. By February 20th everything was finalized – and we could go into execution feeling good.

SOOH WOW!

2,000 roses handed out, 2,000 smiles. The rose heart became a photo hotspot, and user-generated content spread organically across multiple platforms.

Client feedback: “Thank you for being so flexible and making it happen.”

That’s exactly what we do: we make it happen, even when plans change overnight.
